Ciopaer de Sorriso completes four years of activity
The unit of the Integrated Air Operations Center (Ciopaer) in Sorriso completed four years of operations in the northern region of the state, strengthening public safety actions in Mato Grosso. The decentralized air unit, with integrated action by the professional staff of the PM, BM and PJC state institutions, subordinated to the State Department of Public Security (SESP), was installed in the municipality in February 2018.
Since the beginning of its activities, the group has been collaborating in aerial patrolling, strengthening the actions of ostensive and preventive policing; supporting the occurrences of the Military Police, mainly in the more complex ones; the fulfillment of warrants from the Civil Judicial Police; and in demands with the Fire Department, fighting forest and urban fires, helping people in rural areas, transporting troops and Civil Defense inspections.
According to Lieutenant Colonel PM Teixeira, who is in charge of Ciopaer, many challenges were overcome and investments made over the years, which reflected in the current structure of the hangar. the integrated work carried out by the institutions. “We carried out several actions together with the Public Security forces, not only in Sorriso, but in the entire northern region of the state. We recently had the acquisition of another helicopter that is helping to meet the demands. We contributed a lot to the reduction of crime rates in the region and we will continue the work”, he says.
Ciopaer also had as manager, until October 2021, Lieutenant Colonel PM Flávio Ramalho.
