With Adolino Bedin Airport, Sorriso gains space in the national logistics scenario

The airport terminal has daily flights on the Cuiabá/Sorriso route and vice versa and places Sorriso in the national logistics scenario, meeting the potential demanded by the region.

The rapid growth of Sorriso and its versatile economy place it as one of the biggest centers of development in the country, dramatically increasing business tourism in the Municipality. The “gateways” of the city are concentrated by land, mainly through the federal highway BR-163, and by air, through the Adolino Bedin Regional Airport.

Recently, the Municipality of Sorriso signed a contract with the Federal Government, through Infraero, for the elaboration of the Master Plan (PDir) for Adolino Bedin Airport, which will enable the restructuring and expansion of the airport infrastructure in the medium and long term. In January of this year, Infraero took over the management, maintenance and operations of the airport, which until then was managed by the City Hall.

“Sorriso stands out worldwide in the production of grain commodities such as soybeans, corn and beans. But it goes beyond that: much of the cutting edge technology is here and everything is perfectly aligned with sustainability and many people seek to understand this. And it is in this scenario that Adolino Bedin Airport becomes so important for us, as it makes it possible to develop a logistical hobby not only for the Municipality, but for our region”, points out the Secretary of Economic Development, Cláudio Oliveira.
