Fernando Moura
Get to know the story of Fernando Roberto de Moura, entrepreneur and real estate consultant who has been revolutionizing the real estate market in Sorriso
Fernando Moura is passionate about what he does. Working in the real estate market since 2004, he welcomed us for a coffee and told us a little about his trajectory as an entrepreneur and his experience in this field, acquired during the years he lived in the United States and also Brazil. But before that, let's go back in time to better explain this story.
the foundation
Fernando moved to Sorriso together with his family when he was just three years old. Here he lived until the age of sixteen and grew up surrounded by much love, care and friends. From this period he learned important lessons that he carried throughout his life. “I had the privilege of being educated for sixteen years by the best father and best mother”, began Fernando.
In 1995, a serious accident interrupted the plans and took the lives of his parents, Saulo de Moura and Maria Darci Urias de Moura. “I got the news over the phone from a family friend. My parents were pioneers and very well known here in Sorriso. Despite the pain, during the burial I could see that the whole city was saying goodbye to them and I felt how much their legacy would accompany me for the rest of my life”, declared.
turning the key
After his parents left, Fernando, who was already living in Belo Horizonte with his older brother, had to start working. It was at Mercado Novo, in downtown BH, that he took his first steps in his professional life, working as a delivery man.
In the market, Fernando met Dona Judite, responsible for awakening the young entrepreneur.
“Dona Judite, owner of a fruit stand, did a lot of shopping and all the delivery people hid from her, as she always bought in large quantities and very heavy volumes. I ended up attending to Mrs. Judite and in the first delivery I faced difficulties. In addition to the excessive weight, I didn't know the central region of Belo Horizonte well, but I finally managed to deliver. She was surprised at my strength, agility and disposition and agreed to look for me the next day and did so. The other day she bought even more products, but I outlined a strategy to facilitate delivery without physical effort.
For a fraction of the amount earned, I paid two couriers to assist me only on the steepest part of the route. And so it awakened in me an entrepreneurial sense through the desire to seek available resources in order to solve a problem. I realized that I could hire people to do what I couldn't do, in addition to building customer loyalty. What used to be a challenge turned into a great opportunity.”
building pillars
Shortly thereafter, Fernando went through a selection process to work as an outsourced service provider for Maxitel, the first B Band cell phone company in Minas Gerais. “I had great opportunities at Maxitel, I met directors and made direct contact with prominent people in the Company, from the immediate superior to the CEO. However, I was not yet a full-time employee. During this period I took the high school and completed high school.
I met someone from Coca-Cola, applied for a job and was selected. However, before accepting the new job, I took the Coca-Cola proposal to the Maxitel manager and she in turn ended up hiring me as a Logistics Supervisor and I stayed in that role for three years. In this process, I joined the Faculty of Management in Telecommunications. The company TIM Telecomunicações acquired Maxitel and, with that, the growth prospects were even greater”, he pointed out.
opening doors
While he was at TIM, he awoke Fernando's desire to take bigger flights and move to the United States. “My cousin used to live there and helped me through this transition. I made an agreement with TIM who also helped me with the visa procedures. At first I was apprehensive, I traded my security for the new one. After a few months I went to work in a painting company and the opportunities arose. I started my first company, Personal Painting, Inc. and went to work for a contractor. In Hyannis, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, I met Daniele, my wife who was a realtor. At that time my company had only three employees.
During this period, the contractor I worked for went bankrupt and I started to have direct contact with the owner of the construction company, Mr. Ronald Silvia (Ron), for whom my team was already providing residential painting services indirectly. With the bankruptcy of the company I worked for, Ron proposed to take over the company's employees, who were Brazilians, and I went from three to sixteen employees. From this modo, we started to develop other services in addition to painting, such as gardening, ceramics, drywall, electrical, plumbing, installation of granite and flooring, post-work cleaning, among others, and business gained another proportion. We made houses of (up to U$ 16 million dollars, this in 2005”, he detailed.
Asked who Fernando is in the corporate world, Ron stated: “Fernando is a competent, ethical professional who works with commitment, always doing his best. A brave and honest entrepreneur! Its expertise in the real estate market ranges from construction to the sale of properties, always striving for the total satisfaction of its client”. Ronald Silvia, owner of Construtora Silvia and Silvia.
Building the pillars of your family
Fernando married Daniele and in 2010 their firstborn son, Lucas, was born. It was the beginning of the new family. “In 2011 I became an American citizen and we decided to return to Brazil. I negotiated with my brother-in-law, who continues to reside in the USA, the succession of the company, and it continues in operation to this day. It was time to go back to Sorriso.”
The idea of living in Sorriso, at first, scared Daniele, who did not know the city. “I had to Google it, because at first I didn't believe there could be a city with that name. We came in 2006 to walk around. After he started talking about investing in Sorriso, I started to meet people in the United States who were also coming to invest here”, confessed Daniele.
Sowing dreams
When he returned to Sorriso, Fernando built a new story. Little Lavinia was born in Sorriso, who completed the family's joy. “From 2018 onwards I delved into real estate sales. FIP Empreendimentos emerged from the union between my partners (Igor and Patriota) and myself. In partnership with Quatto Empreendimentos, we launched the Atlantis Almaclara condominium with 232 houses, a pioneering development in Sorriso and the largest in the northern region of Mato Grosso, thereby revolutionizing the real estate market. Today we work with twelve brokers focused on the market for the medium and high-end public”, added Fernando.
The legacy
When it comes to finding good opportunities, Fernando Moura is a reference, as he works as an investor and Personal Broker (a specialist in real estate with extensive knowledge of the real estate market, offering services to clients with high purchasing power who require great efficiency in negotiations). The entrepreneur also conducts economic risk research so that his clients can get the best deal. “I am very interested in getting to know my client, having a coffee, learning about his story, his dreams, his reality.
Always with great honesty I seek to find the best opportunity so that they can leave satisfied with their acquisition. Whether to live or to invest, it is important to have the option that will provide what the person really needs. For me, it's priceless to contemplate the sparkle in the eye of someone who made their dream come true. Sorriso is my home, my family's home, my children study at the same school I studied. I feel that my work is a mission and my legacy is to leave the certainty of my duty accomplished, giving back to my city a little of everything it contributed to me”, he concluded.
