All on Four
Minimally invasive dental implant technique

All-on-Four is the solution for patients who want a fixed restoration of their teeth in the short term. Patients who have been told they are not candidates for dental implants due to bone loss or crown and bridge failure may qualify for All-On-Four Dental Implant Surgery.

What is the All on Four technique?
All-on-four is a technique that consists of fixing only 4 implants in each jaw, which support the fixed prosthesis, offering it a stable base. In other words: with few implants and often without bone grafts, it is possible to restore the entire dental arch.

Who is it for?
The All-on-4 technique is indicated for people who have severe resorption due to a long time without permanent teeth.

How long does treatment with All-on-Four take?
After three to five consultations, the surgical procedure can be performed. After a brief pause of 48 to 72 hours for the patient's recovery, the prostheses can be installed. There should be a return to the dentist about 15 to 20 days after the procedure, for the removal of the stitches, follow-up and specific guidelines on the postoperative period.

How long do All-on-Four implants last?
It is not possible to make an exact prediction about the number of years that a denture supported on an implant will last. Currently, there is evidence that more than 90% of correctly installed All-on-Four implants are in the mouth between 10 and 15 years after placement. Therefore, it is extremely important that the professional chosen to perform the procedure is experienced and qualified to perform the technique.

Do implants with the All-on-Four technique present risks?
The technique requires rigorous indication, evaluation and knowledge of the surgical and prosthetic team. Case planning and the study of treatment options must be carefully evaluated to minimize risks.

The experienced and trained surgeon associated with tomographic exams, three-dimensional prototypes, surgical guides, precise prosthetic and surgical planning, make the technique safer. However, it is a surgical procedure like any other and, although they are not frequent, the risks need to be considered.

In which cases can this type of treatment not be used?
It is important to emphasize that implants are indicated to replace missing teeth or, eventually, that have not formed. Thus, at all ages there may be an indication for implant placement. However, the most conservative recommendation suggests that implants be installed only after the end of body growth, that is, from the end of adolescence. As for the other ages, everyone is able to receive treatment with implants, including the elderly in this category. Local conditions, systemic situations and behavioral habits will be important in decision making, but it is known that advanced age is not a limiting factor for implant placement. v
